CMS has been
designed primarily for use on Engineering Procurement and Construction
Management (EPCM) projects or projects involving Design/Specify,
Procure/Construct, and Install/Commission activities. However the
system's in-built flexibility allows it to be used on project delivery
methods other than these.
The system
is based on a rigorous Work Breakdown coding structure that receives
information from the source (budget details, work packages, purchase
orders, contractors progress payment certificates and weekly quantity,
manhour reports and accounting package interfaces). This information
is aggregated at a detail level for financial and cost engineering
control, and at a summary level for management reporting.
